Haldiram’s
Khushiyon Ka naam.
HALDIRAM’s an iconic Indian brand ruling the Indian
market is not just confined to India. It lives in the hearts of NRIs across the
globe. Founded by Mr. Ganga Bhishen Agarwal in a small village of Bikaner,
India. With strong determination they expanded all over India. They now offer
delectable varieties of savories, sweets and Beverages in Indian Market.
A journey from traditional snacks to the giant
portfolio of brands and products. They held such a strong root in the mainland
that companies like PepsiCo, Kellogg’s sweats in front of them. As these tried
to acquire Haldiram’s but they failed.
The core value always remained unchanged over eight
decades, the value of keeping tradition and quality intact. Their signature
recipes are well distinct from all its competitors.
Winning Hearts
Haldiram’s is not just about snacks.
They always
propagate an age-old Indian Saying
“The way to one’s heart courses through their
stomach”.
The Brand
Mascot
Haldiram’s developed several variations of mascots for
their brand over the years. Eventually the most built mascot for Haldiram was
their place origin (Rajasthani) which is associated with tradition, trust and
ethnicity.
India is a land of religion and tradition and whenever
the name Haldiram comes in discussion it has some deep connection with the
lives of the Indians. The association of Indianness with Haldiram is in
evitable. India celebrated more than 100 festivals which are indigenous and
therefore the legacy of tradition follows with the ritual of sharing sweets
with family, friends and Colleges.
With the tradition of gifting sweet boxes, Haldiram’s
smart adaptation has made their products accessible in every corner of the
streets. Their small packs are incredibly popular now because of people being
concerned about sweets and calories where they play well. Currently Haldiram is

Competition
Shining with the tag of superior quality, reliability
& Traditions the brand awareness is very high. But their traditional recipes
are not just confined to them, there are many local competitors in the market
like Bikaji, Ghasitaram etc. Their ability of imitation of the traditional sweets
as its well know recipes has started creating troubles to Haldiram’s market
share.
Indian Market being a price sensitive market there
comes a gap where competitors are trying to inculcate themselves. To maintain its
high standards, quality and superior experience they face competion with low
end producers who are ready to provide similar products at lower margins.
Another threat to them is the unbranded small
manufacturers. Indian is market is not a structured market and hence its easier
for new entrants to come up with low cost strategies and similar products.
